A Change in Seasons for NAA Annual Meetings
North American Artery has changed the pattern of its Annual Meeting so that it will now take place in late May each year. The dates became available after the American Society of Hypertension announced that it will no longer host a stand-alone meeting, which took place during this time for the past 31 years. The members of the Board of Directors and Program Committee believe that this change will support increased participation in its Annual Meeting and exposure for our sponsor partners.
This year’s conference will focus on the mechanisms, assessment and management of high blood pressure and vascular dysfunction ‘beyond the clinic’. The major Symposia will focus on controversies and methodologies in measurement of clinic and ambulatory brachial and central blood pressure and arterial stiffness, sleep and vascular risk, methodology and treatment of cerebrovascular dysfunction and cognitive impairment, autonomic regulation of blood pressure, endothelial function and arterial stiffness, racial disparities and vascular risk and response to exercise.
This year’s popular debate will feature the topic of whether the cardiovascular risk of white-coat hypertension does/doesn’t exist. We will also welcome for the first time our colleagues from the Latin American Artery Working Group for a special symposium. The meeting will continue to feature oral and poster abstract presentations by young investigators as an integral component of the Annual Meeting. We will also have keynote lectures by international leaders in the field including the history of, and contemporary use of arterial stiffness and central hemodynamics in assessment and treatment of vascular risk.
New this year are an increased number of oral abstract presentations and practical hands-on demonstrations provided by our sponsors.
Deadline for Submission of Abstracts is Sunday, March 19, 2017
